“RARE WINE” FROM GAMBERO ROSSO - Amarone della Valpolicella La Fabriseria Riserva 2016 has been selected by Gambero Rosso to enter its new “Vini Rari” list: wines of the highest quality, available in small quantities and with an important story to tell about how they were produced and why. Wines for true connoisseurs, for collectors but important for everyone, because they can change the perspective of those who drink wine but also of those who produce it.

Verona – It is one of the 50 Italian wines that make the difference: the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico La Fabriseria Riserva 2016 by Tedeschi , entered in the new precious section “Vini Rari” of the Guida Vini d'Italia del Gambero Rosso, the only wine from Veneto. The rarity is not only given by the limited number of bottles produced – a maximum of 3,000 -, but also by their stylistic uniqueness, the result of an idea capable of inspiring and opening a new path in oenology.

“ It is a great satisfaction for us – explains Riccardo Tedeschi, now at the helm of the Valpolicella winery, together with his sisters Antonietta and Sabrina – because Amarone La Fabriseria fully represents the spirit of recognition and underlines the philosophy of our family, based on the observation and study of our vineyards, to understand how to enhance the aromatic potential of each of our terroirs in the cellar ”.

Antonietta Tedeschi adds: “In the presentation, the curators of Gambero Rosso defined their list as a wine list that should be present in a restaurant. It is a statement that we agree with because it would add value to the offer and also because it captures another very important aspect for us, and that is that each of our wines is produced thinking of who will drink it”.

Amarone della Valpolicella La Fabriseria Riserva 2016 was produced in only 1,400 bottles and from 1983 - the year of its birth - until today only a few vintages have been produced. In fact, not all harvests give perfect grapes suitable for trying to raise the bar of quality of a wine that will have to last over time.

Inside each bottle destined to mature for a long time there is the perfect interaction between the characteristics of the soil, microclimate, exposure, choice of the right varieties and cultivation system, sought by the Tedeschi family since the 1960s, first as an intuition then with scientific research. Research that from 2017 to today has allowed us to identify the aromatic imprints of each company terroir and to understand its evolution over time in the wines produced.

From this research the Tedeschi family's art of producing has developed, which from the continuous experience gained on Amarone della Valpolicella La Fabriseria is applied to all the wines of the Veronese winery and which is witnessed in the Tedeschi wine archive, inaugurated this year at the Pedemonte headquarters. Here, the labels of the last four decades highlight the many facets of Valpolicella wines and Amarone in particular, the result of the conscious use of each grape, each soil, each vintage.

“This is the strength of our family – concludes Sabrina Tedeschi -, which allows us to collect satisfaction, prizes and recognition with each of our wines ”.
