We are delighted to reflect on a dynamic season of sales earlier this year at Christie’s, and equally excited for what lies ahead. Across every category, we are proud to present the finest collections and masterpieces—works we are confident will inspire and delight you. I am pleased to share a few global highlights:

Later this week in Hong Kong, we celebrate the first anniversary of our new home at The Henderson with our 20/21 sale. Among the highlights are Zao Wou-Ki’s 17.‌03.‌63, a blazing red landmark from his celebrated Hurricane Period, making its debut at auction. This exceptional work will be presented alongside important pieces by David Hockney, Picasso, Paul Cézanne, Tamara de Lempicka, and Fernando Botero, uniting artistic visions across cultures and time.

Also in Hong Kong this October, we are honored to present the second part of the Au Bak Ling Chinese Ceramics Collection, admired for its quality, provenance, and condition. Among its treasures is a rare Kangxi peachbloom-glazed ‘three-string’ vase (laifu zun).

On September‌ 30th‌ in Paris, we will bring to auction the Collection of Daniel Abadie: Une vie d’artistes. A pioneering curator, M. Abadie championed groundbreaking exhibitions at the Grand Palais, the Centre Pompidou, and the Jeu de Paume, introducing audiences to artists such as Alberto Magnelli and Dorothea Tanning.
 
In London this October, we present our 20/21 Evening and Day sales alongside the Hegeswich Collection. Assembled by Klaus Hegeswich, this collection is as varied as it is deeply personal, featuring works by Dürer, Rembrandt, Goya, Munch and Léger.

We then close our 20/21 season in New York with an extraordinary series of sales. Chief among them is the Collection of Robert F. and Patricia G. Ross Weis, unseen publicly for decades, featuring works by Rothko, Picasso, Matisse, and Lucie Rie. Alongside, the Collection of Elaine Wynn, known for her impeccable taste, offers highlights such as Lucian Freud’s The Painter Surprised by a Naked Admirer, Joan Mitchell’s Sunflower V, and Richard Diebenkorn’s Ocean Park #40. We are also delighted to present David Hockney’s Christopher Isherwood and Don Bachardy, last seen in the Paris retrospective of the artist.

Completing the week are works from the Collection of Stefan Edlis and Gael Neeson, built over fifty years and representing artists such as Condo, Dumas, Fischl, Currin, and Sherman—a true testament to their passion, humor, and vision.
